This is not a joke!

I'm looking for someone to "adopt" my R1100S. Why? Because I've had surgery on one of my my thumbs and the docs says to not ride for a year or two and I've got a problem in my lower back that makes my left leg go limp at random times. That is not any fun at a stop light with a top-heavy 200+ kilo bike. No outlook in when that might be fixed.

The good: The bike looks quite good, ran great when last ridden, has ABS, heated grips, narrow saddlebags keyed to match the ignition, recovered seat, Staintune exhaust, braided stainless brake lines and pretty decent tires. I believe that this is the somewhat rare version "sport" with the wider rear rim. Almost forgot the quick release connectors for the fuel lines. Makes taking off the tank so much easier.

THE BAD: close to 108,000 miles, dead battery, we live next to the beach and being parked outdoors has not done the metalwork any favors. Also has a salvage title (for getting knocked off the center stand in a parking lot! Our local BMW dealer must think they are working on Ferraris, WTF?!?).

I'd like it to go to someone who will give it some TLC and get it back on the road. I'm asking 1 US dollar for it. I'm only asking for that because our STUPID US legal system doesn't consider a transaction like this to be a "sale" if the price is less than 1 US dollar. Less than that and it becomes a gift, and gifts have strings attached.

So, if anyone knows someone on the west coast of the USA who would like an R1100S almost free, all they need to do is come to southern California with a trailer and a dollar.
