I have an original BMW battery for sale, one owner since new 18 years ago.
Have to say sorry to Chris and John though for not replacing it sooner. Thanks guys for bumping my bike after I left it sitting with the lights on near Corbridge, and sorry to the rest of the gang for holding you up.
18 years My first BMW was a Daytona Orange R90S and BMW (here in Australia) had a 2 year warranty on their batteries. They were lasting around 20 months...I got 2 before policy changed
2009 HP2 Sport...sold
2006 R1200s with yellow rim tape
2008 Ducati Monster S4RS Tricolore..sold
2004 R1100s BoxerCup Replika..sold
2006 Subaru WRX STI S204 #318/600
Remarkable. i wont be in a hurry to change mine after only 5 years. Saying that, the bike itself is in remarkable condition, there is a tide in the affairs of machines...
Chris.
Fiat Panda.
Fiat Scudo (with speedblock, pipe carrier, reversing sensors, reversing camera, tow bar, some new rust and Fake Plumber logo)
started out with nothing, still have most of it left.
My first battery split and leaked acid onto the frame and wiring loom but was replaced along with the loom and a repaint by BMW even though it was out of warranty. I have since replaced that battery, so they last 3 years, 11 years and the third is still going (6 years).

Your battery will fail on next year's holidays. When that happens - you will wish that..........................
Amanda's boots weren't so heavy.
If I am ever on life support - Unplug me......
Then plug me back in..........
