Who'd have thought you were a hooligan in your yoof ??Al wrote:47 yrs ago first proper gig, Slade, Hammersmith Odeon, School trip!! Bus load of 15-16 yr olds, one teacher and his girlfriend.
Seats being ripped up and thrown about, probably thinking his career in teaching wouldn’t last very long.

Impressed John!! I've been a MTH fan since my older sister got me into them. Saw them 3 times Home, Alex Harvey (billed as the Sensational Alex Hardy Band on the ticket and I got to meet Ian Overend and Mick) and then Queen. Then was at the first re union gig at the Hammy Odeon and then the second re union at Newcastle City Hall - Happy days!! Got Who Do You Love on 7" stillSP250 wrote:My first ever music concert - Bath festival June 1970 Johhny Winter headlining with Juicy Lucy support.
51 years ago and I still listen to his music - best white man to play the black man's blues ever.
Next one was Mott the Hoople, August 1971 at Hereford Football ground.
Like you say where have the years gone?
Sound like an old fart now Ha! Oh I forgot - I am one.
NOPE .... but I was there on 11th August to witness their last performance before John Henry sadly passed. Great and sad memories.dave the german wrote:42 years ago today I saw Led Zeppelin at KnebworthWere you there?

My sister had the spiral copy. I bought a later re release with a naked female body covered with fruit on the picture sleeveboxerscott wrote:Juicy Lucy, Vertigo Records, the black and white spiral inlay...
I nicked "Who do you love" ( ashamedly) from Bernard Dean Records in Scarborough. Then some theivin` pillock relieved me of it at a school disco along with Atomic Rooster and Grand Funk Railroad singlesWhy i took a GFR ep to a school disco is beyond me

This track was my intro to Blues. Sat on the bed mesmerized by 45rpm on a shitty typewriter case style record player.
I`m so glad the time has gone by!

They played Edinburgh back in 69 or 70. My friend was at uni there and sent me a ticket. On the day, I looked at the weather and couldn’t be arsed driving there from Dundee (a mammoth 60 miles in a clapped out MG Magnette). Apparently, the place was mobbed apart from one empty seat. And Led Zeppelin we’re, of course, brilliant.dave the german wrote:42 years ago today I saw Led Zeppelin at KnebworthWere you there?
