Pit Lane Penalty
Did you, lose all interest in Sundays Motogp race after Cal Crutchlow`s ride through penalty for a jump start? I did. I did not feel the penalty fitted the crime. Stupid ruling. You do not win a race in the first lap, he gained no advantage whatsoever over anyone. I do not know why he even bothered coming back out. After last years comedies at the same circuit and Silverstone I have become less and less tolerant of it.

Re: Pit Lane Penalty
Yes, the ride through penalty was a joke. Carl was in the mix and I think would have made a race of it. He should at least have been allowed to continue and then taken a penalty at the end if it was warranted. I couldn't see the jump start in all of the replays and as you say, what advantage did he gain? Travesty

Do I assume Moto GP is not appearing on Poor people TV this year? As I have not been able to find even a highlights programme.
There would appear to be a surfeit of prolixity and sesquipedalian content today please do not use a big word when a singularly un-loquacious and diminutive linguistic expression will satisfactorily accomplish the contemporary necessity

If you don't have a BT Sport subscription to watch it live, the highlights are on "Quest" (no, me neither...) on Mondays at around 6:00pm. The coverage is not great on Quest with gaps of 3 or 4 laps at times...
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Whilst you don't get all the laps of the Moto GP race on Quest and Quest HD, you do get much more coverage of the Moto 2 & 3 races.
Which to be fair, are often much more entertaining and hard fought than the main race.
I get Quest on channel 167 via Freesat TV - don't know what channel is for Freeview TV.
Highlights are 6.00pm on the Monday night after the GP day and repeated at 10 or 11 o'clock.

If you have an android tablet or phone you can download Mobdro and stream the races live.

Re: Pit Lane Penalty
Cause he claimed 12th and got 4 points, but yes even when you see the side camera film it’s ridiculously harsh for maybe 20to30mm forward movement, surely that minute amount of movement can be deemed not advantageous and allowed to go unpunished, if the wheel touches the white line then maybe use the long lap and if it crosses the line or blatantly jumps the start then a ride through. I for one think Cal was robbed of a possible podium boo to Spencer he should know better.boxerscott wrote:I do not know why he even bothered coming back out.

Most of the European events {not all} produce more excitement. Assen is one of those that does deliver. Enjoy.jbox wrote:i hope its not too bad when i get to assen!

Re: Pit Lane Penalty
I agree with all the sentiments about the harshness of the penalty .
However , as an ex licensed FIM Clerk Of Course and Judge of fact, its a dreadful position for any one to be in.
The rules are very specific no movement in a forward direction , sadly even though he was not under power, he allowed the bike to roll a few mm over the line ...
Don't blame Freddie , he has a job to do , and he will never be popular with every one .
When I was racing, I was one for jump starts, man some times if you were on second row, you'd be on the shoulder of the front row guys , and if the starter didn't spot it, first into first corner , and away you went ...
It was all a matter of shear luck , I got disqualified once, misjudged and was almost past the pole man by the time the light went out ...
And I was spotted and black flagged ...
So, I sympathise with Cal , and I can't blame Freddie, as long as he does the same penalty to Rossi or Dovi or any others if they ever roll .
Believe me , I know how Freddie feels, I had to disqualify a Champion for breaking the rules , 2 chaps a few years apart .
But as hard as it is, it also sends a message to others, that you are straight, and follow the rules despite how popular the rider is .
Both riders, admitted to me in private, they accepted my ruling and respected me from that day onwards.
Sadly one died on my birthday in the Dakar a few years back .

Re: Pit Lane Penalty
Rules are rules and they must be observed OR changed. From a sponsors point of view it`s enough to want you to take your money elsewhere.
It needs changing. Interesting point about Rossi getting penalised in a race.. they bottled that when he booted Mark the Merciless off
mainstream sports are driven by the sponsors, SKY, BT etc and unfortunately the Casinos. Motogp seems to be top heavy with jobs for the boys.
It needs a clear out.
