Probably banter; anyway, Robert Pirsig of Zen... fame has died - an 'interesting' character!
A book I've never got round to reading, but who knows, it might help me improve my spannering...

I read it many years ago, back in the 70's. Didn't improve my spannering but was a useful treatise on philosophy.
I could not remember much of it so bought a SH copy earlier this year.

It's an iconic book of the hippie 70's, it's worth a read because the philosphical musings are of course timeless, but the biking references seem a bit dated now.
It's not really about motorcycle maintenance, it's a road trip on a bike.
I do find though, as the protagonist does in the book, that riding a motorbike helps me think. It's a strange phenomena, however intensely you're focused on riding and staying alive your mind can relax. It's a bit like the old adage of "sleeping on it", after a ride I often find my brain rebooted and I make better decisions.
What a load of bull*-?t !!
