I asked recently about an oil leak from the rear drive bellows, today is the first chance for me to check. As suggested, I removed the clip and slipped one end away, virtually no oil in there. I rubbed some of the leaking oil between my fingers and it was brake fluid. I checked all around the banjo on the rear caliper, and sure enough it was wet. I switched on the ignition and pressed the rear pedal and saw a very fine jet of fluid squirt from just forward of the crimped end of the hose. So, can anyone recommend a supplier for the short rear brake hose please

Motorworks do a replacement, stainless one - https://www.motorworks.co.uk/vlive/Shop ... Q=BRA51036. Its about £20 cheaper than an original from BMW.

Cheers Peter, but it does say that it is for an October 2002 model, will it do for mine?

Looking at BMW's parts fiche, it shows their part number as 34327651643, being for the R1150RS 01 (which I assume means 2001), with a length of 330mm. Searching under that part number takes you straight to Motorworks, where they have it shown as for models from October 2002 onwards. But all is not lost! They also have this page - https://www.motorworks.co.uk/vlive/Shop ... 5_30_HA_70 which seems to show lines for earlier models.

Ooh, and I thought that this would be an easy one to answer. They show more than one for my year, how do I know which is the right one? I've just measured mine and it's around 14" / 36 cm in kilometers

Best bet would be to give them a call, I've heard they're very helpful, especially where there's various different parts available. They helped me with my alternator belt confusion!

Thanks folks. I telephoned Motorworks this morning, gave them my VIN, drove over and picked up the correct pipe and was back home before lunch and the pipe is now fitted.

Can anyone tell me if the BMW caliper bleed nipples are BM specific, or will any one fit. If so, are they 8mm or 10mm? The reason being the my rear one is rusted and will not allow me to bleed properly.

I think some have 6mm nipples, so they might not be a 'universal' type. I can see you doing another run over to Motorworks!

As above , definitely M6 on the rear, if you push the caliper pistons all the way in/ keep the caliper as low as possible you may be able to bleed at the master cyl banjo ?

Its an M8, so its wrong! I still reckon Motorworks is your best bet.....whatever they sell you will be the right bit!
