Can any one tell me why , after just 4000 miles my brakes are rattling again ?
Good quality bobbins and springs were fitted .......
Now they are flopping about !!
Total milage is 42k & some change .
I absolutely hate a rattle on my bikes ...
Same with the rear hugger , I think that will shortly be coming off, bumps in the road and its banging away ....
Yes , this one is tight .

Re: Brake Rattle
Did you use the 'upgrade' rubberised washers? On the parts list, they're shown as being for eliminating the rattle. If you've got them already though...they presumably don't work!

Re: Brake Rattle
Can't imagine why. You are going to have to remove them and inspect

Re: Brake Rattle
I can't see them on Motorworks' website, but James Sherlock has both types listed - 011388 are rubberised, 011434 are standard. I'm pretty sure the rubberised ones were meant to help with noise, but it might have been 'squealing' rather than 'rattling' issues, so my apologies for jumping in!

Re: Brake Rattle
Well , I have made contact with Motorworks .
They said that the equipment they sell has not had any negative response , so I have ordered the parts I want from them.
A bit more than I paid from the previous supplier , so lets evaluate the new kit when I fit it .
And after a few thousand miles , see how it holds up .

Re: Brake Rattle
My parts have just arrived from Motorworks .....
They feel a lot more metal wise than the previous lot .
Certainly heavier metal on the bobbins me thinks .
Maybe we can get the job done the weekend .
Bloody shift work tends to rob one of a private life
