How does the eccentric throttle on the 1200S work? I'm just curious. I've just made a new twistgrip for my KTMRC8 with a less aggressive profile that has transformed the bike. It went from dangerous to docile at low revs without loosing anything higher up.

I believe by the shape of the throttle body cams together with the throttle pulley.
The 1200 is opposite to your KTM. Too docile at first. I changed the throttle pulley on mine. Now it's off like a scalded cat. Catches me out most of the time!

Neil, how did you change the throttle? What Mods did you make?
1200boxer. There is a profiled cam at each throttle body, designed such that for the first part of the throttle travel, has a reduced effect at the throttle butterfly. Then an increasing effect towards the end of the travel such that the final small twist of the throttle results in a large opening of the butterflies.
This was designed to give more control at low speed, small throttle openings.
It's just something I got used to. You adapt pretty quickly.
I have read about various modifications, but never really been convinced that any of them will enhance the riding experience on the road.
