Hi,
I have a 1999 R1100s with ABS which I want to renew the brake fluid. When I did it last time I didn't bleed the ABS unit, I just did the reservoirs and calipers. I want to make a filling adaptor for the ABS unit and follow the process described on UKGSER's website where a replacement ABS cap is drilled to take the filling funnel. Another user has apparently used a tapered rubber plug to take the funnel.
Has anyone used either of these methods?
Is a replacement cap or alternative threaded plug readily available?
Diameter/thread size of the ABS cap?
Any info much appreciated.

The '99 1100s doesn't have the later system that you describe. There are just bleed nipples on the ABS unit. I always used a vacuum device to draw off old fluid / bleed the ABS unit / calipers.
Probably easiest to draw the old fluid out of the handlebar and rear brake reservoir , refill , and then draw fluid through the ABS unit in the order described in the linked thread ( assuming your brake system is the same) while keeping the reservoirs topped up . Then draw new fluid through the calipers all as per the shop manual , The filler adaptor described in the linked thread is on the brake caliper . Most remove the adaptor and substitute a standard bleed nipple.
