Connecting auxiliary power for gps/inforad M1 on R1100S

Guys,

Has anyone got the best option for getting a live power supply for supporting both a gps (Garmin Zumo) & speed detector (inforad M1) to the R1100S? I want it to be connected to a feed that is via a controlled feed (i.e. switches off when key is switched off)? I'm no 'electronics' guru so appreciate any clear instructions. Is there any other option that would possibly simplify (i.e. a timer delay straight from the battery which would enable me to then hook devices off of that as oppoesed to identifying / splitting cables? I did also see some options to leverage off a blade fuse BUT on my model (99) the fuse box doesn't have enough room to do this so i think i'm writing that option off unless someone can tell me there is an easy way to do a similar approach from the relay boxes (which have plenty of room).

When I wired mine in I followed the information on this post

viewtopic.php?t=8122&highlight=sat+nav+wiring

I found the place on the back of the rev counter and had it wired up in no time

Wire it in to the tail light supply.

The dipped beam supply is handier, but goes off when on full beam.

I installed a power block onto mine;
http://www.twistedthrottle.ca/denali-po ... otorcycles

The power block is installed up behind the headlight, attached to the fairing bracketry(?).

Within the power block are two options for each connection; "always on" or "switched".

You feed the power block a main power lead direct from the battery.

Then you have another wire that you attach to a switched power source (headlights, speedo, tailight etc). It acts as the trigger for the switched power connectors within the power block.

You connect all of your accessories to the power block. I currently run my phone charger and auxiliary lights from the power block, and will eventually add GPS.

All the best,
Mike

I tapped into the heated grips wiring for mine, seeing as they're not fiyted on my bcr. Still haven't got round to fitting my inforad yet. But I'll find something under the seat. Probably the aux socket

Heated grips!

That's the way to power just about anything.

Top quality, bar none, easy positap con and battery con. Not inexpensive but waterproof, looks factory, a dummy can fit it but you will need a pro crimping tool, again not inexpensive. You pays your dollar and you see the show

Vehicle Wiring Products.

What about this, if mounted on a low profile enclosure?

Or this one - should do the job?

I've not had a trawl through the site, but VWP have just about everything, and prices are keen.
