BMW Helmet recall / replacement.

Post by CC Mac 2 »

Don't know if this has already been mentioned but this is from the K Series website. I have just swapped my helmet for a System 6 EVO at Williams in Manchester. No money has changed hands. I bought my helmet originally on Ebay but dealers will not ask where the helmet was purchased, it's a swap or refund. You can find the code on the label sewn onto the strap. There's a bit more discussion on; http://www.eurokclub.bike/index.php/topic,1103.0.html

'BMW Motorrad is recalling its Sport and Double R Helmets, the company said in a press statement. Owners are asked to hand their helmet in at an authorised BMW Motorrad dealership.

The "BMW Helmet Sport & Double R" models do not fully meet the approval test requirements according to the European standard. The company has therefore decided to take them off the market.

There is no safety risk to users of the helmet.

Helmet under subject recall are those with CODE:059241/P , for those interested you will find the code in the label attached inside your helmet.

It was explained that new helmet tests required by the international safety regulator Sport helmets model might not or will not surpass.'
