/04/05 BCR Paint Codes '976' - what BMW BLUE is used?

I'm having a GRP belly pan painted for touring on my BCR (will leave the precious kevlar one home next time I go away), and I have searched the forum for paint codes - but can't find anything.

My BMW owners manual says colour "976" - but I expect translated that means "red/white/blue"

Can anyone tell me the colour BLUE used so I can save the painter some time matching.

I know I have seen a sticker on one of the rear panels, but I couldn't spot it earlier when I took the seat off, so either its come off or I will have to remove some panels and have a look around.

Are you sure it's 976 and not 967?

Realoem shows code 967 as

Color mixture code
alpinweiss 300 (Alpine White)
pazifikblau 441 (Pacific Blue)
marrakeschrot 392 (Marrakesh Red)
Boxer Cup Replica 2004

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showpar ... Id=51_5484

(doncha just love the price of the belly pan 3,423.90 USD plus VAT )

and
http://www.rsbikepaint.com/en-gb/colour ... dyear=2004

show the same listing the colours as Pacific Blue 2, Marakesh Red 2 and Alpine White 3 but I guess it's the codes above that your paint guy will find more useful :)

There's a good listing at

http://www.bmbikes.co.uk/paintcodes.htm

too :)

Thanks Mr Parry - the dealer has definately written by hand 976 in the book - but I suspect that can easily be a mistake and meant to write 967.

Many Thanks Steve your links are a great help and answer all my questions in your usual "one stop shop / font of all knowledge way" ;)

That is a useful ref. for all other tri-colour BCRs searching for paint ref. :)

<Curtsey> :)

PS on my Mamola BCR the colour code is on a black and white sticker on the rear mudguard under the seat. It's 916 and I reckon it was chosen to stick two fingers up to Ducati as it was BMW's under seat exhaust equipped sports bike :)

Wow! Thanks Mr Parry -

(the dealer has definately written by hand 976 in the book - but I suspect that can easily be a mistake and meant to write 967).

Many Thanks though Steve for the above your links are a great help and answer all my questions in your usual "one stop shop / font of all knowledge way" ;)

I particularly like the "BCR painted parts guide" link - printed that out and will put it with my documents for future ref. and now you list them I recall Pacific blue, Marakesh red - so that's definately 'my ride'

many thanks M

You can get paint from RS paints - you can also put model year etc into a search and it will give you the colours
