Splines!

Post by Topcat »

I’ve read quite a bit about the gear box output shaft spline issue on the R1100S and that you are not supposed to keep the clutch disengaged for any amount of time and not to slip it etc etc.

My question is; is it the same for the R1200S? If so, any tips about city riding (other than don't do it )?

Thanks

Hi dave
Don't worry. Use the clutch in a correct manner and it will fine.
A few isolated cases of spline failure, mainly on the clutch plate.
Not as many cases as the 1100,s , which I think had a batch of incorrectly hardened spline shafts slip into production.
All the best
Gus
