Guys,
Can we make a recommendation for all-purpose tyres (commuting as opposed to long mileage); happy to make preference towards one of the modern winter (pilot?)... Appreciate quick answers as might need to purchase tomorrow for trip back from Edinburgh to London on Sunday.

Pirelli Angel ST if cheap.
Otherwise - Michelin Pilot Roads (get 3s if cheaper than 4s)
Or Dunlop Roadsmarts

Bridgestone 023s are good and reasonable value now that the T30s have "replaced" them.

I've just fitted Pilot Road 4's, because they seem to be the most modern and highly regarded sports tourer tyre of the moment.
Such a subjective thing, tyre choice, best just go with most recently designed tyre from one of the biggest manufacturers ?

+1 with that thought.
That said, it's good to see what everyone is using and their thoughts on it, so I'm not knocking the thread (wouldn't matter a toss of I was, would it!)

I am still using Michelin Pilots (the original pattern) From M&P or Busters usually about £130 to £140 a pair and get them fitted locally. I keep using them because grip is really good wet or dry and they last the longest of all the tyres I have tried over the last 12 years (129k miles). especially on the R1100S and R1200ST

That's a great price - I paid £120 for just a rear a Pilot 2CT last year (which has squared off something rotten).
