I managed to buy a second hand san jose (im sure that's how its spelt) a few years back :D
so a few years on, I thought I had better inspect it, 18 inches of dead insects and two 2nd ww hidden Japanese soldiers it looks like it needs cleaning.
can anyone advise (sensible please) how to go about restoring/cleaning it.

Probably the same as a K&N.

Email San Jose for the correct method

There are some good prices on Ebay - for K&N Refresh kits (Cleaner and oiler).

Search for "K&N cleaner" or JCraceandrally.

Good kit for £12.93 delivered.

Thanks for help, will do the job properly in the winter months.
having accessed the dark side of my boxercup after many years in search of my battery, I lifted the tank to gain access to it.
my poor boxercup, what met my eyes was not the same boxercup I purchased new ten years ago! all new and shiny.
ok, so its showing its age, ridden in all weathers, but it still brings a smile to my face when I drag it out :D
