Can anybody please point me in the right direction. Looking to replace the brake lines with Hel or Goodridge. By consensus the option of having 2 lines from the master cylinder to the calliper seems to be better. Can anyone post a photo of this set-up? I'm a bit concerned about routing of the lines and the split at the lower fork brace. I suppose that the lines must be of the same length with this configuration or I'll get different pressures at each calliper. Is it a kit readily available from Hel or Goodridge or do I have to make one up on their order page?

Having looked at the online website from Goodridge they offer 2 kits, an 1103 and 1107 for the non abs. What is the difference? Hoping someone here would know the answer as I cannot contact them by phone. Just spoken to Hel and they will make a set to spec. Advice still needed.

I had Hel on my 1100. I had them make them to my length specs as I was going to use barbacks. I can't remember the length I had but take some string and maybe with a mate to hold it in the right places measure like that. Don't forget, if this is for an 1100 the union at the master cylinder uses a BMW tool. I discovered this 'after' bleeding the system empty and then had to put it all back together again. In the end I got Jap and German to do it and change the bars to the comfort style at the same time.

It may be possible to get them equal length but tbh I would concentrate more on getting a good route for each one, taking into account suspension bottoming (I'm sure you will).

IMO the system can be viewed more as a static pressure system than dynamic and as such the small differences in hose length surely won't create pressure differences. Ok, pipe loss exists even under static conditions, but in a system like this the difference down each line will be practically immeasurable, no?

I would imagine braking torque differences on each side are far more likely to occur due to differences in caliper piston seal drag/deformation and even more likely, differences between each set of pads and how they contact the disc and frictional differences of the pad metalwork in the caliper/pins.

I got mine the same length. Routing will be fine get some of the correct clamps that hold the cables together.

Tbh I've purchased kits for other bikes from hel and they were supplied with different length hoses , it never occurred to my pea sized brain that there could be a pressure differential , I assumed that pressure in a sealed system was equal.? I've different length hoses on my 11S with no noticeable problems.
The banjo on the hel lines isn't adjustable for orientation which can be a pain .

Hel advised me to send the lines. Reason they don't list a kit is because of the differing angles of the banjo bolts - that's wot they told me anyway

Thanks for the replies guys. I had a word with Peter from Scorpio Racing. There is a company in Milton Keynes that will make me a kit while I wait. Perfect.
