Hi people
So a big hello to you all from the other side of the channel. Recently bought myself a 2008 R1200S after a series of Jap sportsbikes and on my search for boxerinfo I stumbled accross this fine forum.
It's got all a forum needs to have, lots to read, funny ( at times) and great pix

Took the bike out for a first spin last Sunday.... Still need some getting used to the boxer style of riding... half the rpm's, the deep growl, but managed to put a smile on my face the whole way through...so guess it musn't have been that bad of an experience

The bike is looking fine as it is at the moment, but would fancy a rear hugger, some cylinder protection and maybe a smoke gray screen, just need to find the right sponsor first :-)

Take care all

Not a bad choice at all. At least the most expensive upgrade has been done. Congrats.

Hey guys

Thanks all for the warm welcome.

As this whole boxerengine thing is new to me, looks like I've got some reading to do, pretty interesting stuff to find here.

Hi Peter,
welcome to the forum. I joined a while ago, having bought a 2004 R1100s at Ginion BMW in Waterloo, Belgium. (The dealership is run by a guy called Philppe Faignoy, who prepared Stephane Mehrtens bike when he won the 2002 Boxer cup - so I hope/guess they know what they're doing ...).

What part of Belgium are you in? Are you a native, or an expat?
Any fun roads you can recommend?

Cheers,
Dave

Going back to your photo - I know some people prefer the sans-bellypan look, but in my eyes - you've got just the right level of relief on the black bellypan - to make that work :D

Great-looking bike! :D

Hi All.
Thanks for the comments !
rear hugger and smoke grey screen have been ordered.

@Daveyboy
I'm a native Flemish dude, still live there, region Geraardsbergen (Grammont pour les francophones) East Flanders

Went for a spin last Sunday in Southern part of our vast country :-)
Passed the Castle of Atrre, seemed just the rights spot for a picture
Tunedd it a bit with this result
