Shaft drive universal joint phasing
Is it possible to see the position of the front UJ via moving the rubber boot, and using a mirror on a stick, or will I need to remove the swing arm in order to check alignment?

So I when I had my 1100S - I used a head torch so that I could see all the way up the shaft (If my memory serves you cannot actually align the yokes properly as the splines don't actually line up - but if my memory is duff someone will be along in a moment or two to put you right). I used to support the shaft with a screwed up rag (which you pulled out at the last moment) you can also fiddle the two halves togther with a screw driver through the beaing holes. Either way up it's a bl*ody fiddle. But the head torch works well.
There would appear to be a surfeit of prolixity and sesquipedalian content today please do not use a big word when a singularly un-loquacious and diminutive linguistic expression will satisfactorily accomplish the contemporary necessity
