Ball joint removal

Can anyone confirm the size of the nut holding the ball joint to the top yoke. I,m about to change the top yoke and looking up at it and trying to measure the nut it looks about 46mm.
If anyone has removed said nut what did you use a ring spanner or socket, as it looks like a socket would need to be deep to clear the ball joint.
Thanks Bry

I have a special tool i had made up. its a socket welded onto a massive piece of steel bar. I will have a look at the size when i get home from work later.

Hi
It is 46mm. You will struggle to get a socket over and a breaker bar onto the socket. Get a decent bit of steel bar welded onto the side of the socket so the ball joint can poke out the top. It will need to be long enough so you can get some leverage.
All the best

A little bit of softening the Loctite with a hot air gun helps. Sorry this advice is late but next time eh?
