And very much appreciated it was -- People like this deserve our custom and imho well worth paying a bit extra for this kind of service.

Yup - if you don't toss them a bone - you'll be getting all your tyres off the internet and breaking nails - fitting them yourself.
Same goes for dealers - Don't complain when you haven't got one nearby when you do all your own maintenance/buy parts off ebay.
