I must admit I would have probably only handed my cards in to the bank but I can understand the guy getting sucked in I guess.

I've had several phone calls in the past claiming to be from Bike magazine or MCN offering me a 12 month subscription for £10 and them wanting my card details, to which I've always asked them to send the details via post, at which point they've REALLY tried to press me to do it over the phone and once being told there's no way I'm giving anyone who calls me my CC details over the phone they generally hang up, and surprise no offer in the post ever arrives.
