Service advice

Post by Andy »

Hi guys,
I need a little bit of advice regarding my R1100s. The bike is due for its 36,000 mile service and has always previously been serviced by a main BMW dealer (Clarks Birmingham). Thing is, I haven't been using it much over the last 2 years as I bought a winter bike which is perfect for my 5 mile commute through single track lanes. As a result I am considering selling the bmw!
I wouldn't want to sell the bike needing a service, but I also wouldn't want to pay £400 for a main dealer service only to sell at the same value or +/- £100.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

D.I.Y. Keep the receipts for all the bits needed and hand them over with the sale. Not many would expect a full BMW SH at 36k.

Why not ?
If you make it clear in the add I don't see a problem.
Just say, bike is due a service.
It wouldn't put me off if the bike was in good cosmetic and mechanical condition,
