New R1200S rider

Hi all, I was looking for a new Kawazaki recently to replace my BMW G650 X-Country, something better for longer faster trips. When I was in the dealers he half-jokingly offered my a very very good part-ex price for my bike if I would take the R1200S he had for sale. He told me nobody wanted it because it was ugly and kwerky. I was shocked, I'd never seen the bike, and I liked the look of it. Plus it offered the chance to experience the boxer engine. After a final trip on my G650, to Paris, I took a test ride on the R1200s. I liked it, but I could tell it would take a bit of getting used to! It handles the conditions of Welsh roads well though! And the power in the middle of the rev range is nice!

I look forward to reading your messages and possibly to meeting some of you!

I went for a ride through the Wye Valley (Wales/England border) this evening, and took a couple of pictures of the new bike. Wonderful handling, and incredible easy to use power. My shoulder was killing after the ride though I hope it doesn't continue!

Welcome... bike looks great.

I'm just up the road near Caerphilly - and Dai is around the same parts, too.

Looks spotless Rico, very nice. If your shoulder continues to give problems you can raise the bars with a few different methods available.
