Just ordered a Remus Y pipe for my R1100s. The pipe work doesn't have the center stand stopper, so the stand is coming off.

I can live without the stand on a day to day basis but when working on the bike or cleaning it I will miss it.

I'm wondering if I can temporarily refit the stand on it's pivot bolts when working on the bike, minus the spring (cos it's a right faff to fit)? Would this be safe?

If not what else is available? I've used the Abba stand before, but they are quite pricey. There is a Wunderlich stand, and another for the R12 made by Becker Technik, but I wasn't sure if that would work on the R11 as the instructions aren't very clear. Both have wheels to get the stand in place which is nice if you have a smooth surface to work with.

The only thing might be - consider getting someone to steady the bike, and use a luggage strap between stand and front of bike - to stop it coming off the stand? Then - it's safer than standard?

Becker do a stand for the R11S too, I have one and it works a treet. It's the same as the Wunderlich one btw, which is just a rebadged version of it I believe.
