Hello everybody, looks as if my infatuation is soon to be satisfied as I have agreed to swap my GS 1200 for a 1200S, I wonder if many have gone this way?
Anyway a bit about my infatuation,I really lusted after a Boxer Cup Rep for years and at the time had a Triumph Sprint ST 1050,but it never happened as not too many of them over here and I did enjoy my 25k miles and 4 years on the Sprint. I replaced the Sprint with a 1200GS my first Beemer for many years and love many thinks aboutthe bike but just find the performance a bit lacking. Anyway when a red and silver (the fastest version

)R1200S came up at a Dublin Mottorad I enquired about buying it but he was insulting about the trade in value on my Trumpet, so that was that...............or so I thought until 2 years later I have agreed to swap my GS for that same bike.
I am aware of the 1200S limitations, funny throttle, and tricky to carry luggage, but I just adore the looks. This one has an Akrapovich zorst, wide rear wheel, ABS .
Just hope I won't regret it and be dissapointed.
Incidentally I also have a Ducati 998S which is pretty extreme in terms of comfort and riding position, so hoping the Beemer will be more of the sports tourer I have been used to with the Triumph.
Looking forward to the craic, banter and advice on Boxertrix.

Surely they didn't have it in stock all that time???? If they did then they probably snapped your hand off when you went back

Hi Eyore. I agree with adoring the looks. I thing the 12S is a fantastic looking bike - from some angles it's really minimal / skeletal. And they are very rapid on 'real' roads.
