Brake calipers help

Post by Al »

I have spent a fair part of the day fitting the bars above the yokes and HEL front brake lines and new pads to the 1100, all was fine until I came to bleed them. one caliper has the normal bleed nipple the other has a screw in tube about 20mm long with a spring loaded ball brg inside not sure what it does as when you push the ball in you obviously loose brake pressure. Is this just been fitted to mine or are all Brembo calipers the same?
Think I have bled them ok will check them again tomorrow, cant ride it to check them as I have misplaced my oil filter tool and have already dropped the oil DOH!!!

Al - you've got BMW's famed 'speed bleeder' to which mechanics can connect a workshop vacuum widget thingy (getting technical on a sun evening ;) ) . On both 11S's which I owned I removed it and fitted a conventional stainless bleed screw.

Cheers Gromit, sounds like a plan. Can you remember thread size?
