Not sure if I'm posting this in the right section - sorry if I'm not

I got my Pyramid hugger this week and after having trouble with my brakes this week too I thought I'd clean the brake calipers up and attempt to fit the hugger.

I've never worked on my own bikes but I'm determined to take more interest in this one and try to keep the bills as low as possible.

Started on the rear brake caliper as that would let me fit the hugger at the same time. Got it off, gave it a good clean (very pleased with myself at this stage btw) - started to put on the extended head bolts that come with the hugger and hold on the rear caliper.

It said to torque them up to 40 N/m - I sheared one
Then spent a colourful 45 mins getting the sheared portion out of the caliper.
I've phoned the suppliers to see if I can get a replacement bolt but they're not sure... hopefully hear something this week.
Has anyone else ever done this? Any idea where I could source something like this. I'm guessing it's not a standard bolt as it acts as a spacer for the hugger.

Can you post a photo of the one that isnt sheared, alternativly send me the one thats not broken and i can probably get one made for you

Bob if you are able to make one is it likely to be better than the supplied one. If it was and it's not too cheeky would you mind making two?

No problem Andy.
Any reproductions will be better, the original ones are made of cheese. The hugger is a nice design but the fittings are not well executed.

Can I just say thanks to you all for how quickly and selflessly you've started trying to work out a solution to a problem I created. I've often read other posts where people's problems are dissolved in assistance and offers to help but this is the first time I've been on the receiving end and I'm truly grateful.

I presume the pyramid hugger fits the same as the Ilmburger in which case I would also be interested in some lovely stainless bolts to replace the furry cheese ones supplied.

Sadly they're not the same fittings.
