R1200S throttle balancing-home service or garage?

I have done a search on here in relation to throttle balancing but they all appear to be for the R1100S NOT the 1200.
So is it the same for the 1200 in all I need is patience and a Carbtune or twinmax (or Harmoniser) or with the "advances" I need a laptop and diagnostic equipment??
My bike seems to be, at idle anyways quite ruff with vibrations making the mirrors wag up and down and I'm thinking balancing the throttle might help. When you rev the bike it's pretty vibration free (for a boxer!!)
Anything else I could look at?
