Engine Differences

Post by spike240 »

Can any knowledgable sorts out there tell me if there are differences to engine or gearbox accross the oilhead models - ie the R, S, RS, RT etc.
Are the engines all in the same state of tune for example?

Thanks

The engine's have different cams, heads, and valve's accross the range the rest is pretty much standard engine electronics vary as well

Gearboxes vary in so much as the R1100S had a six speed box the rest have five speeds other variations i'm not sure of

They have also been given differently geared beval boxes

Hope this helps Dai

R1100S gearbox is also unique in term of way it is liinked to the frame and to the swing arm. No other R gearbox will go in.
