I'm guessing the AC Schnitzer handlebar will be similar to the Wunderlicht one that I have fitted.

I came from years of naked bikes and as much as unloved the R12S I couldn't live with the clip ons. I love the look of the R12S compared to the R12R or GS but wanted a more upright position.

They are great and very easy to fit (although I bough a spare ball joint so I didn't need to swap them over and I could leave the original in place!)

I'd say go for it and report back!!

Here's a shot of mine (sorry about the poor photo!!)

Hello,

Don't know if it will help but I have the Heli-Bars on mine which were on it when I bought it. I did revert to the originals for a day or so....But found them too extreme so the Heli-bars went back on and I find them a good compromise for day to day commuting.

Best regards,

David

ive been tempted by the bar conversion but i cant justify the £400 price tag of the ac schnitzer or wunderlich items, maybe if my number come up on the lottery!

what about Rapid Dog's "Barbacks"?

A lot cheaper than £400, I'm sure?

£400 is a fair skelp of cash

I don't think Rapid Dog does barbacks for the 12s, only 11s (shame) but these are reasonable http://www.mv-motorrad.de/lshop,showdet ... 6,11,,.htm

I'm also loving this idea of theirs

the simplest ideas are always the best.

Rapid's bar backs are only for the 11S.

I have Heli Bars on my 12S. For me it is the best compromise. Not too expensive and easy to install.

I did consider the superbike bar conversions, but I have gotten used to the Heli Bars.

The 12S feels like a chopper compared to my HP2 Sport.

Cheers

Are you sure that raised bars will actually sort your problem. On my 11S I fitted bar backs , rode for a while and still wasn't happy , fitted lowered pegs , and then after a while removed the bar backs , reasonably happy :?
Fitting raised bars may create more problems than it solves , the main one being the seat and obviously the screen.

Fitted a pair of Heli Bars and tried them out on Sunday, what a differance. Didnt seem to loose the prone riding position but the comfort improved no end. Cheaper than the handle bar conversion. Recommended.
