Mmm, 3 cyclinder RT anyone?

Looks like too much electronic whizz banginess for me, hope they do a "bog standard" version, but it looks unlikley.....

It's like the bastard love child of an RT and my GT. It appears that Triumphs designers have taken the lazy option and taken to plagiarism.

+1
If I was a BMW copyright solicitor I would sharpen my pencil
However, if it rides like a genuine competitor, it has to be a good thing, No

There's a fair bit of GTR1400 and STX13 Pan in it too I reckon.
I'm slightly confused as to where Hinckley are aiming at though - I wouldn't have thought it's going to be a nimble handling bit of kit like the 12RT, yet it doesn't have the oomph (on paper) to take on the 13GT or the GTR1400.

If it has the short wheelbase and handling of an RT, it could be a very good bike.
Looks like your feet are going to take a lot of spray from the back wheel, but then again the new RTs have this problem too.

You can get after market infills for the RT to stop the wheel spray. (why they don't design them in first we'll never know)
Interested in this, I like the look, always fancied a Triumph triple for the engine.
Weight will be the decider for me. Needs to be same as RT or lighter.

Wouldn't hold your breath based on the weight of an Explorer compared to a GS

British iron has always been a bit on the heavy side

I must admit to being a Triumph lover after my last 2 bikes being Triumphs the engines are just perfect and sound amazing!
So I always like to see them doing well and bringing out new bikes BUT even I admit that at first glance I thought that WAS a RT it's that alike.
Its a bit of a shame as Triumph usually had unusual bikes that stood out from the rest rather than copying the competition. BUT if the RT was designed in a wind tunnel and so was the Triumph I guess the computer would work out the aerodynamics pretty much the same so the result are two bikes prettymu h the same......
The engine will be a peach, tho!!

Yup - more shades of Kawahonda than BMW, in my opinion.
As has been said already - there is a limit as to how different it can be from all the tourers in production already.

Side profile of the top half reminds me very much of the 1200ST - and we all know what happened to that.
