Fuel leak....or not..

Post by Hayden »

Bolted all back together after messing about doing odds and sods the past couple of days, the tank had been lifted a couple of inches at the back to allow me better access to the air filtre, and on starting up had a fuel leak on the right side from somewhere, not a couple of spots but a real `gusher`...

So, all panels back off last night ready for a good look this morning..

This morning, started ok and ran for a couple of minutes to find the leak and there wasn`t one.. :?

Took her out for a short spin not daring to venture too far in case I broke down, had a look when I got back and she`s bone dry..

WTF is that all about? I mean don`t get me wrong, a bike that fixes itself is very clever but i would like her to tell me what she did

Anybody had this before, or got any ideas what may have caused this.

cheers, confused of Sutton Coldfield.

Tipped things far enough to fill a breather which emptied itself once you righted the tank maybe :?:

Fancy not starting the bike up before you put all the panels back on

What BH said, alternatively you could have disturbed (stretched) a hose connection which has since reseated itself now the tank has been back in position for a little while :?

you may be right guys?

The three rubber pipes that hang down behind the right footpeg, the little one appears to be reach to the back of the torque arm, I`am guessing that`s not quite right?..
