ooo cheers matey

Just got back from Lancaster hospital and despite visiting a mate who had a nasty crash on sunday, then got runover, couldnt help but have a hoot riding back. I'm so pleased Ive gone for the 1200, its proving to be a revelation.
Still cant bring myself to rev it much, but have had a couple of very short blips and its brilliant round here. cor blimey.

PB Boxer is right when he says the new 1200s is a revelation.
Picked my new 1200s up on Saturday, done 300miles so far this weekend,
what a bike!! absolutely brilliant!
I was getting fed up with waiting for my new bike after placing the original order in early June, but believe me it was well worth waiting for.
although obviously still running in this bike feels far superior to the bike I test rode in June...the fueling seems much better, the engine is much smoother, cant wait to put a few more miles in.
PS: mine is red & silver with Ohlins and is fitted with Conti Sport Attacks which seem to be very good.

I got my 1200S last week and I agree, it feels a lot better than the ones I have test ridden. I know BMW have brought out a new mapping for it so I guess this is what has made the difference. Mine is also red/silver with Ohlins.

Ron - apologies for not liking the bellypan but I think the 12S looks much better without it. Makes it appear lighter, more lithe and almost like a Guzzi MGS - the pan, for me, just makes it appear too dense and heavy. The hexhead Boxer motor looks great (esp in black) so let's show as much off as possible.

Not sure I totally agree with you there. Personally I think the bike looks a little 'unfinished' without a bellypan. IMO the Boxercup version of the S has always looked much better than than the standard S.

As a general query - do belly pans collect more crud in inaccessable places or do they actually protect the bottom of the motor?

I had to make holes in the R6's as it would fill with water (from condensation?) which would get into the exhaust!

...the original BCR belly pan also has a tiny hole at the front ; or else water stays in...
