Only got around to painting the front wheel this week, I haven't plucked up the courage to add the rim tape yet...
Apparently not , I now think silver is probably the best option for this.

Thanks to a kind gent on here (Karl1000) my 11S now wears a very expensive looking piece of carbon intake tubing.
What lurks beneath?...

The em zedder in me was reluctant to cut up the old intake so instead I reluctantly cut up a perfectly serviceable old inner tube..

So how does it feel? I guess the diy mod had unleashed a little power for me and having ridden a Deauville over the last few weeks i then hopped back on the S with the lennies and it feels like a rocket ship . The main difference for me is mentioned also by Mike B in the original thread , the throttle response at motorway speeds in 6th gear is so good that the bike now feels undergeared and i'm constantly going for another gear that i don't have! Also the induction roar is a lot more audible even with earplugs.
I must return it to standard at some stage and do back to back testing on the same day.

I also did the GS intake tube mod as well and felt that improved the mid range response, a how to thread is on here somewhere.

Sorry guys , again I do not get this at all. Was this mod conceived by mathematical expertise on volumetric flow rates or was it adults playing with silly putty to make more inventive shapes/ Not convinced that this mod was better than a chocolate tea pot.

I don't know who came up with it, GerryB has two 1100s, a std one and my old one that has a lennies induct, GS tubes and a laser system on it and reckons they are totally diffferent performance wise, as an ex racer his seat of pants Dyno is probably correct.

Nice one Nigel - just starting my 'journey' on a '99 R1100S with 13K (legit) on the clock......(can't see your photos on the thread - not sure why).
Cheers

Next time you're in Dublin, drop in for a cup of (iced) tea from my chocolate teapot and have a spin on the bike just to confirm my findings..

I doubt you not Al but it would be more conclusive if a comparison was available for the same bike with and without. I am sure lennie will have done that to help persuade people to buy them in the first instance. Who trusts sales pitches? Did lennies induct need a special air filter?

Cheaper and less hassle to lose a bit of weight, keep the loud handle wound open longer and use the brake less - if you want more performance.

Only 'cause Mr Parry can't be bothered to set up the suspension properly - he just recommends eating more pies!

fiddling with the settings is just masking the problem

..... more pies fixes it
