I had to really pull the bar to get it on top of the yoke and it is very tight and would not risk leaving it like that. Asking for trouble I think. Don't want to find that I can't stop the bike at a point when I need to!

You can plug the holes and clamp the bars into position (after you have raised them above the yokes) with a Wudo kit. They cost about fifty quid and I think there are some pictures of them in other links. I have fitted them to mine.

Done mine.... 20 mins tops. Looks a bit strange IMHO, but certainly feels better for a more upright position.

I actually like the normal position... but her on back says that the gap between us causes turbulence.... with the bars above she is closer to me and there is no gap.

Will give it a test run.

I had already changed the pipes to Goodridge jobbies and when the bike is on the c/stand the cable is taught but not stretched....in running mode there is plenty of slack.

Some Pictures....

I will try some rubber bungs to go in the screw holes.... or does anyone else have any ideas??

I will eventually get the two pipe system (which is what I should have done in the first place) so will order a tad longer.

Thanks for all the info

Snavetrauts

With the bars mounted above the yokes, you could consider putting a connecting bar, screwed to each bar mount.

This would stop possible movement of the bars and provide a GPS point.

darkness: is this what you think about?
I made it from a 4' stainless steel, but not finished or tested
just a sudden idea brought in practice this afternoon.
I'm just looking for a ram mount as connection for the pda
watertight bag.
