How did you reconcile all these 'anomalies' on the Multistrada?

Still, you could do worse with the BMW thingy
Peak power requires a certain load. But is it necessary that the load take the form of air drag only? What about in the intermediate gears under max acceleration? Isn't it precisely the lack of air drag that allows the power to be used instead to produce a certain rate of acceleration?Blackal wrote:173bhp peak power......
All those who have actually delivered peak power on the roads - one step forward, please!
Peak power requires peak load - only deliverable at top speed, with full air drag.

Nods .... always prefer torque to high hp outputstanneman wrote:Horsepower makes headlines. Torque makes the earth move.
Higher horsepower at the "prime mover" end will give you more torque for any given wheel speed. The job of the gearbox is to provide ratios that match the two ends. The job of the operator is to use these ratios to advantage.slparry wrote:Nods .... always prefer torque to high hp outputstanneman wrote:Horsepower makes headlines. Torque makes the earth move.
And with power I can keep it moving.tanneman wrote:......Torque makes the earth move.
