5cm crepe bandage nicked from the first aid kit does a great job.
Easier to wrap around the headers (whilst humming the tune to casualty

Now being realistic, how many have ever used the 5cm crepe bandage for the purpose intended?

Yet they're always in a first aid kit, but really useful things like headache tablets aren't ... (allowed) :)

Er - I rode it.
There would appear to be a surfeit of prolixity and sesquipedalian content today please do not use a big word when a singularly un-loquacious and diminutive linguistic expression will satisfactorily accomplish the contemporary necessity

Fitted some nice Venhill braided lines and cleaned the calipers up. When I was doing the rear caliper I discovered the brake pad friction material had come away

Loads of meat still left on the pads, so a blob of araldite should sort it

that happened to some pads I had on my previous f650.

I sent them back to the manufacturer and they sent a new set out and sent me a genuine brembo set (I assume they'd had the brembos to copy them maybe)

Bounced mine (11S)off the rev limiter.....

Wheeled my 11s out of the garage for the first time in 3 weeks ( after getting acquainted with a new to me bandit 600) and thought it had developed a stutter , these boxers don't rev much compared to inline 4's

Attended a demo event yesterday, arranged by my local BMW dealer, Ocean in Plymouth.
It was down in Cornwall in a posh golf club.
Lovely ride down there,
Cars and bikes were available for testing, and it was invite only.
All the bikes were available.
Trouble is that nothing in the current BMW range really does much for me.
I do think these F800 models are neat, especially the GT, but that's about it.
BMW desperately need to jazz up the flat twin line up with a couple of mould breaking new models.
The K1600 is just absurd, and the S1000RR is just too much like a Japanese sports bike.
The funny thing was that my 12S was attracting more attention from the bikers than the dealers bikes.
I go so many compliments.
Anyway I didn't feel like riding anything, and whilst chatting to one of the sales girls, I said as a joke, that the only thing that floated my boat, was an M5 "performance edition" we were standing next too.
She said, OK then, just go to the marquee and get your details registered and you can go out in it for 30 minutes.
I passed on it.
I mean me, in a 95 grand car is just wrong on so many levels, but I'm kicking myself now.
There was a free buffet and bar as well in the clubs lavish lounge.
Gotta say, hat's off to BMW who certainly know how to put together these events, and if you ever get invited to one, I recommend you go.

Went for a cracking 80 mile spin to Lahinch along the Clare coast. I know those roads like the back of my hand and the bike felt just perfect :D
I have never felt so right about any bike since I started riding in 1978.
Had a cup of Earl Grey and a Twix and watched my bike being photographed by some discerning chap.
PS why have Twixes got shorter all of a sudden?

It was probably a mainland European import. I'm not kidding, they're a lot smaller over there and some places in the UK are buying them in as they're cheaper but clearly still sell them at the usual UK price.

That could be it, I should have checked the wrapper. I had wondered if they had bought a multipack and sold them individually but as I forgot my glasses I couldent check.

I think you will find they make them smaller / less weight instead of putting the price up
it seems to be happening with lots of food stuff.

This reminds me of a phone in radio programme I was listening too on the same subject.
Some old biddy phoned in and reckoned Rich Tea biscuits were getting smaller.
How do you know that, said the presenter.
Answer was, well I always had to bite a bit off the edge before dunking otherwise it's wouldn't go all the way into my mug.
Nowadays I don't have to do it, and they go into my mug with room to spare.
I'm using the same mug, so that means Rich Tea are smaller.
Fair point I guess.
Oh and today I went out and my bike got wet and dirty for the first time.
Damn those weather forecasters.
