What was the FD oil like?
I have done mine on 3 occasions now, and each time the oil comes out clear, but with a ribbon of black oil running through it. It's a bit wierd, like its separated in the drive before I drain it, then re-combines as it comes out of the hole.
Best way to support a R12S when swapping final drive oil?

It wasn't too bad. The previous owner claimed that the bike had been serviced including all fluid change but be had misplaced the receipt! After changing the oils I must admit I think he was probably was telling me the truth.
When I took out the drain plug it was pretty clear a nice honey colour and later it was much much darker. This is the only photo I took and with the colour the tray is difficult to make out!

But more importantly mo metallic bits came out with the oil
