Julian,
Yes, all three lanes of traffic behind me stopped. Having initially reached the conclusion that I had been a plonker and locked the front wheel, I sent them on their way once I'd got the bike onto the hard shoulder. It was only later that it occured to me that I'd probably been rammed from behind, by which point the car that had rammed me was long gone...
Cheers,
Paul

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.
Hi Paul,
Only just picked up on this on one of my infrequent visits.
Sorry to hear of your off, it's a big shock to the system as I know all too well on the same bike
In my experience It happens so quick that it's almost impossible to remember what happened/fault/blame.
Unless you only used the front brake only you definitely wouldn't endo!
Most grab a handful and if you're at a slight angle tuck the front.
I remember it's last excursion and a mate saying, when i asked about the damage,"It's not that bad"....yeah right!

Well the good news is, I went to the fracture clinic this morning and a proper doctor took a look at my wrist. It turns out that the diagnosis of the nurse in A&E was wide of the mark, and I haven't fractured the bones in my wrist and finger after all. Cast is now off. Still a bit sore, but happy that it's "just" soft tissue damage.
Cheers,
Paul

We're avoiding that conversation at the moment... I'm taking her to Prague next weekend so might broach the subject after a bottle of wine or three one evening. Wish me luck!Boxadog 2000 wrote:What about Wednesday when the Wife got home ?

Paul,
Sorry to hear of this but glad that you are OK, Could be worth checking with Carol Nash re your kit, When I had my off last year they had thrown in up to £1000 worth of cover for riding gear and paid out for my leathers, helmet and gloves. Hope to see you in Hawes maybe with a shiny new F800s!!!!
Regards Peter.
