Ecu chip/tuning

Post by RSBowling »

Hi,
I have a 1999 t reg 11s with a standard ecu, k&n filter, ypiece decat and standard end cans. I'm looking for a low cost chip or something along those lines.
I have contacted dynojet and a bloke on eBay selling EPROM chips, but neither have anything for me.
Reg is t82 mak and Chassis no is wb10422a0xza85756
Not after huge power, just let it loosen up a bit and utilise my small mods.
Any help/advice would be appreciated.
Many thanks,
Richard

Funnily enough prior to posting this is been looking at them. Has anyone fitted these, and what do you think of them?

I've got a spar John's chip lying around somewhere. But it's made for full system and bigger air filter. They're only about 50 pounds new though

Sit rep.
Have been in communication with John regarding his chips. He has been so helpful, so I have bought one off him. Married up to suit the mods I have done.
Had to buy a new ecu but that's not too expensive.
Will post how it performs once fitted.

Hi Rich
Why did you have to buy a new ECU?
I have a stage 10 chip off John which was his latest one.
I have K&N and a Y pipe. I found it runs very well with good mid range smooth power. Would have been nice to dyno it before and after .

Hi Al,
I had to buy a new (second hand) ecu as my bike is fitted with a ecu from 99, 00 era which has a serial number 1 ******
I needed a ecu with serial number 7 ****** which is from a later single spark models.
I don't know exactly why, I sent a eBay link to John asking if it was suitable, and he said yes that's great!
Good to hear that the chip working for you. He sending me a stage 9 chip, off his recommendation. To be honest the bike runs great as it is, but after reading feedback on these chips, I thought while its winter and I'm dismantling the bike (paintwork and exhaust header removal!) I'd try this great value tuning mod.
Cheers,
Rich

Hi al,
Chip arrived yesterday, fitted it to bike and fired it up. Ran well and seemed smoother. But the real test will be out on the open road. Hope to get out this weekend but weather here is shit.
He sent me a stage 10 chip which is the top one he does. My next full up will be shell v power, bike should respond to better fuel now.
I'll keep posted
Cheers,
Rich

Hi Al,
Forgot to do that, I'll sort it later, and if I can figure it out I'll put a photo on!
I live in Durham, ride all over, in particular North Yorkshire.
