Bar Backs - longer hoses needed??

Post by HarrisBikeNut »

Thinking of buying a set in the classifieds and wondered if I would need longer brake lines from the bar to the junction on the frame? Anyone know for sure? The web site doesn't help

Cannot definitely answer your question, I`m sure someone who can will soon reply but if you raise the bars above the top yoke the lines need to be longer( 50mm) so I would expect it to be the same with the barbacks. If you do need to extend the hoses it is easier to replace the lines completely, two separate lines from the master cylinder direct to the calipers and do away with the bridge piece. ABS may be different.
