Went to the Metheringham Airfield Open Day yesterday - lots of interesting stuff to look at, although I do struggle a bit with those who like to dress up and re-enact War-time 'skirmishes'. Still of the good stuff there was this nutcase running an RR Meteor engine (a Merlin without the supercharger). Sounded incredible - you could feel the shockwaves coming off the exhausts from 30' away.
