I think there is a fine line between a tasteful build, and something that shouts, LOOK AT ME.
Simplicity for me is key, as with this lovely Café Racer based on a Lemans Mark 1.
It's simple, uncluttered and looks purposeful,

Yes, that is gorgeous. I've seen that one before. They've done a couple of similar ones if recall? Very classy looking.

I do really like the duc soup though. It is sooo different and appealing, in a different way, to my eyes anyway.

See, it's not just the paint job; that rear end doesn't work for me. Looks like a.n.other sportsbike tail section tacked on and ruins the overall effect IMO. While I'm at it - the front mudguard (BMW Brick?) is dodgy too. Whereas the pic you followed up with Steve is an example of where the seat unit enhances the bike. Each to their own and all that. Just saying like...

sort of agree Mike, the styling needs some work but I do like the blending of old n new (engineering not styling that is)

I know what you mean Steve - interesting, yes. It's also unfair to compare this one to some of the immaculate cost-no-object jobs we've been treated to. Just commenting from an aesthetic viewpoint. I am far from qualified to criticise such a creation in terms of engineering - it probably works beautifully.

That frame looks radically different from stock. I can see the rear engine mount, but I wonder how they support the front?
