just reading the above posts again. whatever any dyno figures say, I cannot imagine anyone not liking this mod!

I think your misunderstanding my posting. I am not in dispute with the fact that you can feel a difference regarding the mod. I do understand the effect inlet tract length has on torque/power figures and where they appear throughtout a RPM range. I know that your feeling an increase in midrange power/torque and that is what you like in your sytle of bike riding. But, maybe not all s owners want to ride like you. The link you provided is not showing figures for the S. Different bikes, with the S having the highest power output. There are lots of things to consider when altering the motor. Different exhausts, fuelling, cam profile, compression all have a part to play. BMW did a reasonable job in getting things right on the S. This can be improved upon by adding on the bits mentioned in the original post. Get your bike dynoed with and without the tubes and lets see what is really happening.

I like mine the way it is, when the weather warms up a bit the accelerator module will be connected back up and the prefilter will be going back in the snorkle,[to me it seem's to be overfueling in the cold] wether or not i do away with the val singleton will be decided when i see some dyno figures but i have a horible idea that the bikes with this mod won't pull into the redline as easily as mine

The theory would suggest that it will loose something at high revs, but I cant actually feel it holding back on mine, it pulls very well straight up to max revs.
Anyway, when i get my nitrous oxide system plumbed onto the bike it will sure as hell compensate for any loss of power

Ho ho HerrFlick, a word in your 'shell-like'. Having met Gus (Hi Gus!) on a couple of occassions and found him to be a very likable and deeply knowledgable fellow (re:- 'boxers') albeit modest with it, I must say, if any rendezvous behind the bike sheds involves a 'battle of wits', your gonna lose Cobber. Using all of the available RPM range of a boxer is hardly screwing the tits of them is it? Hi Gus. I understand your point and I do plan a set of dyno runs asap (The Black Dog permitting).
What I've been trying to convey (probably in too many words), and is the reason for my enthusiam, is that there is a such clear improvement in performance and tractibility across the entire rev range that nobody need fear this mod. Bike now feels 'alive'.
Eg: a mountain road near here has a single climb of 1800ft with some gradients above 1 in 10. 20mph switchbacks and other tight curves with short 70mph straights.
On the tight uphill switchbacks I can now slow to 2000rpm in 2nd (previously needed and awkward shift to 1st around the apex) and pull around and away like an electric motor, up to 8000rpm. No surging. Much less vibration. On the faster open roads leading there I constantly look for 7th gear at 70mph.
I just haven't found any real-world downside in any part of the rev range, and the improvements are completely obvious. No tradeoff of a bit more here for a loss there. Maybe the dyno will show some top end loss, but I've had no trouble seeing 125mph with panniers. Equals licence burning here.
The bike is stock with the exception of Lennie's induct (put on long before the GS choobs).
I have RocketSprockets to fit after the first set of dyno runs.
As for BM getting it right? Not on the 'S'. What were they thinking?

Yeah, I might lose, but from my end it's just good natured stoushing. Hope it never comes across as serious.
We have a similar board here for 928 (Porsche) owners. A good bit of jibing between those who know one another.
Sometimes someone will make a controversial comment and the whole board goes up in smoke for a week (no personal abuse) with everyone in "asbestos suits", then transmission returns to normal. Topics include defending lycra cyclists, Plod, speed cameras, speed limits, insurance companies, and volvo drivers, just to name a few.
