Stelvio update.

Post by CC Mac 2 »

Hi folks, I left the fold a few months ago because I fancied a change and managed to get a good price on a one year old Guzzi Stelvio. I bought the bike after being told by the salesperson it was a 2011 registered 2010 model. I wanted nothing older than 2009 because the early ones needed sorting.
I joined the owners club and looked into what problems affected the early ones and how to spot the symptoms. After checking my frame and engine number I discovered it was a 2008 model, which I wouldn't have bought if I hadn't been misled. The dealer didn't want to know and I was faced with a Trading Standards battle or live with it (no chance) or change bikes. I didn't fancy a drawn out legal situation so I was lucky enough to swap with a friend for his fully loaded 2006 GS, 5400 miles. I let him know why I wasn't happy with the Stelvio, I just felt cheated.
It's great to be back on a BMW again. The GS feels very light and I can live with the top speed as the rest of the package is sorted. If anyone needs any more info on the Stelvio feel free to ask. I will be joining UK GS er soon but I still look in on Boxertrix. The Guzzi Owners Club forum doesn't have a humour section!!!!

If you can prove that the dealer misled you, and you can afford the time............

Get a billboard and stand outside his showroom every Saturday. Let every prospective buyer see it.

I did that once with a car dealer, who didn't even wait for me to keep my promise - he just knew that I could spare the time, and appeared to have the wherewithall to carry it out.

If I am ever on life support - Unplug me......
Then plug me back in..........

See if that works .....
