HEATED GLOVES or MUFFS? OR BOTH ?

Saw these in Maplins (Hereford) yesterday.

Could one of my fellow Trixters with some electrical knowledge say if it would be possible to wire these into the bikes system (connected via a 'jack' plug?) thus eliminating the need for batteries altogether?

Tho my heated grips work well I find the outside of my hand remains cold. I can't bring myself to spoil the lines of my beautiful 11s by fitting muffs so these look like a viable alternative. Plus, as of now, (Nov, 2012) if you enter the code:- N43CY or go to:- http://www.maplin.co.uk/aa-alkaline-batteries-217782 in the Maplin search window it looks like they'll sell you a 100 pack of AA batteries for £14.99 (1.5p each!) but I'm sure that must be a misprint or I've mis-read it.

You know the proper answer is to use muffs - don't forget they keep you dry as well as warm.

Simple maths ( the gloves require 6 aa batteries @1.5 volts x 6 = 9volt which is a tad less than the R11s electrical circuitry) , would suggest no

I always used muffs in the 70's and 80's , Not sure why I stopped , but they definitely keep hands dry , and if you have heated grips you'll only need summer gloves most of the time.
I've recently started using them on one of my bikes.
Downsides are they can feel restrictive , but that warm dry feeling makes up for that.

I did the maths as well 9volts you could fit a resister in the wireing but i think you would be better off with a pair of two finger gloves or muffs when dispatching many years ago i made solid muffs from plastic oil cans and made stays to keep them off the leavers they worked great and if i was doing short runs multi drop's i would go without gloves [probably why my hands are in the state they are now]

Two finger gloves used to be available from gerrik's but i found the buffalo ones warmer more comfortable and cheaper

Remember muffs of any sort beat gloves hands down for warmth and feel
