Hi guys a quick intro and a bit of background.
The 1100 S, is my third BMW, to which I've had an R 1100 RS, and K1200 RS previously.
Up to last week I have also had a sweet little Ducati SS, whith SL kit, which is now my sons as I prefere to ride my Boxer, and he has bent my ear about it constantly.
Previous to that I've had everything from MV to R1, Blades to Off road stuff.
I've been riding for too many years to admit to, but I'm from the times when you could ride a 250 without a test.
I've allways been a fan of the Boxer, infact my first proper three figures was achieved on an R 90 s, which was borrowed from the shop I was working in at the time, just a shame I couldn't afford it.
I have fancied the 1100 S for some time and I'm not disappointed, and IMHO, it's one of the nicest shapes that BMW have made.
So thats it realy except to say that I hope to meet some of you around some time.
Cheers,
Mark. _________________ Marco |

Hi Herman,
Your right no Fizzy's, as I rememember there was a predicessor to it The SS ( sixteener special ), almost identical, but the popular ride for the 'yoots' was a Puch of some sort.
Me I never bothered I had an ancient Motobiccane which just about ran for a summer then it was stripped down to learn the mechanics, happy days. _________________ Marco |

Hi TT,
God those machines bring it all back, I can almost smell the old fuel now! Lol.
The thing is at the time they were better than nothing, and certainly better than walking!, try and get one of the kids of today on one, and you'd be be told that they would rather walk as it's not flash enough!
Mind you to be fair their trainers are worth 10 times what I paid for my moped !!!Lol _________________ Marco |

I remember my Puch, including a small White Plastic Top Box (made by Tower Carriers of Blackpool) was £166.58. Brand new, which although it sounds cheap now was a lot of dosh in 1974 as I had just started working in a bank as the office junior on £875 per annum. _________________ Founder member - Maldives Hill Walking Club |
