Shoei Hornet

Postby BMWBob » Fri Feb 01, 2008 8:11 pm

For those of you out there with GS's or similar I've just bought a Shoei Hornet (their alternative to the Arai Tour-X).

Must say after a 80 mile plus ride at the weekend I am well impressed. Very stable at speed and even without the Pinlock fitted it stayed pretty mist free. Comes with removal chin curtain that helps keep the winter draughts out.

Regards Bob

Yea, what the oldster said! and in case Box on't Back reads that I am wanting a new lid, what is the recommended period of time for the use of a helmet? I was told 3-4 years but for an "average" rider that is 12k-16k which I do in about 2 months!!! :?

The Nolan was good for the Bluetooth connection but is heavy/noisy and makes me look even more of a muppet than normal.

So lets see a picture, please.

Not wearing it I'm afraid........far too scary

More info here:

They retail @ £280 but I got a good deal from my local Yamaha Dealer

I've always believed you are meant to change your helmet every 5yrs? That's due to degradation of the materials over time rather than mileage?

Noooo, Bob, it goes on mileage

Not too bad looking is it? Mmmm Stick some miles on it and let us know re: comfort and wind noise.

Huw, you definately need a new one mate, apparently Beta rays are more harmful to the material above 70mph and doubles the degredation,
