A Scotland 2 day Meet and Ride 2020

Postby BoxerCup R » Sun Feb 16, 2020 4:21 am

Hi

Now I am settled in Scotland and found some amazing roads and scenery I have organised my first meet for The Boxster club (Porsche not BMW  ) I wanted to do something a little different to cover as much ground in one meet as possible so am taking the guys and gals up north on sports car and bike friendly roads 8) through Fife in April and we are stopping over in Banff for one night then coming back via The Cairngorms and celebrating the meet with a night in Edinburgh.

My thought now is to do the same thing for the bikes, so with that in mind I want to gauge interest from Boxertrix. Let me know if you would be interested date dependant obviously and what you think. I am looking at July/August this year and it will be a Friday morning start from the South side of Edinburgh, a night stay in a hotel in Banff and then another nights stay in a hotel in Edinburgh on the Saturday night. All welcome :thumbleft:

Cheers

I could well be interested. There are always good roads in Scotland it's just a bit of a faff to get there and a good reason / excuse to do so is therefore a good thing.

Yup, I'd be up for that.

Cheers,

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Sound. OK its a goer. Dates of Fri 10th & Sat 11th July or Fri 17th & Sat 18th July, which is better for everyone ?

We'll set off from The Robins Nest Inn, Gilmerton Road, Edinburgh on the Fri morning, get around Edinburgh, over the bridge then head east at Loch Leven. Did a recce of the ride to lunch yesterday, in the car I might add lol and the cafe for lunch is perfect and the owner said she'd be delighted to have us - after the Boxster crew in April

One of the roads we will drive on the Friday 8)

July 17 & 18 is marginally better for me, but I could live with the earlier date, even though that weekend clashes with the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Looks like I could potentially do both but the later weekend is better for me.

Ride sounds great and it's on my doorstep. However...
on 18 July my daughter is getting married and I suspect than even without asking Sue will expect me to be there!

Hope to catch the next one.

Cheers
