Well further to previous discussion, and the hotel pressing for confirmation I've told them to reserve the weekend they offered us which is

Friday the 21st April 2017 and Saturday the 22nd April 2017

So for 2017 the Welsh Weekend will be held at the Royal Goat Hotel, Beddgelert :)

really concerned about the lack of communication from the hotel regarding confirming they've booked that weekend to us, several emails sent and no replies.

Will take a spin out up there when I get chance to speak to them directly.

Right, John (SP250) and myself rode up to Beddgelert today, and it's not good news :'(

Basically the person I originally dealt with was the previous owner who'd agreed the deal and the weekend, but made no record of it in the bookings calendar.

The new owners where getting confused with a booking they'd taken for the "other place" club ... in February.

Once the discrepancy was sorted there appeared to be a real lack of interest on the part of the Royal Goat Hotel to deal.

So the upshot is it's all back to planning again, I've started making some tentative enquiries via contacts and friends.

With the situation re the Wild Pheasant I'm not sure what's going to happen there so am looking into various options.

Apologies to all for the messing about

Well if the Goat doesn't want our business, upwards of 40 peeps mid April I say feckem, how about a return to Betws-y-Coed, loads of accomadation and a group meal in the Royal Oak, + loads of shopping for any partners who don't partake in the ride out.

So...... the best option for "Wales 2017", could be ........ SCOTLAND ?

Let's not be too critical of the new management of the Wild Goat - they may have a different business model from what Boxertrix are looking for - remember..... no-one is making a fortune out of hotels.....

I'm sure Steve will do his utmost to come up with an attractive venue, though - and I for one, appreciate his dedication and efforts.

(Steve - I've sent you a PM regarding "mates' rates" on an HP4......... )
